What Airport Transfers Include

Airport transfers are private, scheduled rides between Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport and any address in the metro area. We offer sedans, SUVs, vans, and coaches to match party size and luggage count. Your affiliate driver tracks your incoming flight, meets you at a designated location, and drives directly to your hotel, office, or residence. This service replaces the uncertainty of rideshare queues and taxi lines with a confirmed reservation.

Who Uses Airport Transfers in New Orleans

Attorneys and energy executives book sedan transfers to Poydras Street offices and downtown boardrooms. Tourists headed to French Quarter hotels, Garden District inns, and Warehouse District condos reserve sedans and SUVs year-round. Medical professionals visiting Ochsner Medical Center, Tulane Medical Center, and University Medical Center use the service during conference weeks. Groups traveling for Mardi Gras, Jazz Fest, French Quarter Fest, or Essence Festival often need SUVs or vans for costumes, instruments, and luggage.

Where We Operate and When

Our dispatch team is a New York-based company that arranges every New Orleans ride through vetted local affiliate operators. Service runs twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, including red-eye arrivals and pre-dawn departures. MSY is located at 900 Airline Drive in Kenner, roughly fifteen miles west of the French Quarter via Interstate 10. The airport’s consolidated terminal opened in November 2019 and serves all commercial airlines under one roof. Interstate 10 near the High Rise bridge and Essen Lane is a regular bottleneck during weekday rush periods.

How Pricing Works

One-way sedan transfers from MSY to Metairie are from $130. Rides to the Central Business District or Warehouse District are from a written flat rate. Transfers to the French Quarter or Garden District are from a written flat rate, and Uptown is from a written flat rate. SUVs, sprinter vans, and minibuses cost more based on capacity and luggage needs. Standard quotes include tolls, parking, and driver gratuity. Additional stops, extended wait time, or changes to the destination are billed separately.

An Honest Limitation

MSY does not allow unpermitted curbside solicitation, so your driver must meet you inside the terminal or at a licensed commercial pickup zone. Interstate 10 congestion near the High Rise bridge or Causeway Boulevard can add time during peak periods. We track flights, but we cannot control long security lines, customs delays, or lost baggage.

How an MSY arrival works, step by step

  1. Reserve with your flight number. The reservation system asks for the airline and flight so dispatch can watch the arrival rather than a clock time.
  2. Dispatch reviews the booking. Before the travel date the pickup details, vehicle class and any notes (child seat, extra bags, a second stop) are checked against the flight.
  3. Your confirmation names the meeting point. At Louis Armstrong that is usually the ground transportation area on the first floor past baggage claim, or inside near baggage claim when a meet-and-greet is requested.
  4. The chauffeur adjusts to the actual landing. Early or late, the pickup moves with the flight. On MSY arrivals the first sixty minutes after touchdown carry no waiting charge.
  5. Straight to the address. From Kenner the car joins I-10 east toward Metairie and the city, then exits for Poydras Street, Orleans Avenue or Carrollton Avenue depending on where you are staying.

Departures back to the airport

For the return leg we set the pickup time from the drive time for your neighborhood and the airline's own check-in guidance. From the Central Business District or Warehouse District the run is typically twenty to thirty minutes in normal traffic; from Uptown or Lakeview, plan on thirty to forty. On weekday afternoons the eastbound and westbound I-10 approaches near the Causeway Boulevard interchange slow down, so late-afternoon departures get a more generous buffer. During Mardi Gras, Jazz Fest or a large convention week, leave extra time again.

Picking the right vehicle for the flight

A Mercedes E-Class or S-Class seats up to three passengers with three bags. A Cadillac Escalade takes up to six passengers and six bags, which is the usual answer for a family with checked luggage or a pair of golfers. For a wedding party or a team arriving together, a Mercedes Sprinter carries up to fourteen. If the luggage count is close to the limit, choose the larger vehicle: a car that fits on paper can still be tight with garment bags and carry-ons.

Private flights into New Orleans Lakefront Airport are handled the same way, with the chauffeur meeting you at the FBO. For fixed-price routes from MSY to specific neighborhoods, see popular routes.
