What Hourly Charter Service Covers

Hourly charter service gives you a private vehicle and driver for a set block of time. The car stays with you, so you can make multiple stops without rebooking. This works well for restaurant tours, wedding-day transport, funerals, executive errands, and festival-hopping.

Who Uses Hourly Charters in New Orleans

Wedding parties use hourly sedans and sprinter vans to move between hotels, ceremony sites, and reception venues. Bachelor and bachelorette groups book SUVs or vans for nights out in the French Quarter and on Frenchmen Street. Food and cocktail tour groups use hourly service to visit restaurants along Magazine Street and Freret Street. Families attending jazz funerals or cemetery tours also reserve hourly cars.

Where We Operate and When

Our dispatch team arranges hourly service across Orleans Parish, Jefferson Parish, and the Northshore through vetted local affiliates. Availability is best when booked at least a week ahead, especially on Saturdays and during festival weekends. St. Charles Avenue is home to the historic streetcar line, which runs 13.2 miles from Canal Street to Carrollton. Magazine Street stretches roughly six miles from the CBD to Audubon Park and is lined with restaurants, boutiques, and galleries.

How Pricing Works

Sedan hourly charters are from $130 with a three-hour minimum. SUVs are from $240 per hour, and sprinter vans are from $240 per hour. Larger coaches and shuttles are priced by the hour with longer minimums. Rates include the vehicle, driver, fuel, and mileage within the service area. Overtime is billed in thirty-minute increments.

An Honest Limitation

Hourly service keeps the car with you, but parking in the French Quarter is extremely limited. Drivers must wait at legal standing zones, which may be a block or two from your restaurant or venue. Parade closures during Mardi Gras and other events can force route changes and added wait time.

Planning an hourly itinerary

An hourly booking is the right choice whenever the day has more than two stops or the timing is uncertain. Instead of rebooking between each address, the same car and chauffeur stay with you. Send a rough plan when you reserve (first pickup, the stops you know about and the last drop-off) and the chauffeur works from it, adjusting as the day changes.

  • An afternoon uptown. Pickup in the CBD, a slow run along St. Charles Avenue, stops on Magazine Street for shops and galleries, then dinner in the Garden District.
  • An evening in the Quarter. Dinner near Royal or Chartres Street, music on Frenchmen Street in the Marigny, with the car staged on North Rampart Street or a hotel entrance between stops.
  • A Northshore day. Across the Lake Pontchartrain Causeway to Mandeville or Covington for lunch and appointments, and back over the bridge before the evening rush.

Rates and minimums

Hourly rates by vehicle are $120 for a sedan, $150 for an SUV such as the Cadillac Escalade, $230 for a Mercedes S-Class and $240 for a Mercedes Sprinter. Every hourly booking has a three-hour minimum. If the day runs long, the extra time is added to the reservation.

What the chauffeur does while you are inside

In the French Quarter and the Garden District there is rarely a place to idle at the door. The chauffeur waits at the nearest legal standing zone and dispatch confirms the meeting point when you are ready to move, which is usually a short walk to the corner. Plan for that in heels, rain or with packages.

For weddings and galas see wedding and event transportation; for a single ride between two addresses, point-to-point service is simpler.
