Cost for this route
A sedan from MSY to Uptown New Orleans starts at $130. An SUV starts at $160. This covers a one-way transfer to Tulane University, Loyola University, Audubon Park, or any Uptown residence. The quoted fare includes the vehicle, driver, fuel, flight tracking, and curbside meet-and-greet. Tolls are covered on routes where they apply. Gratuity is optional and not included. If you request meet-and-greet inside the terminal, any parking fee the driver pays is passed through at cost. Final pricing depends on vehicle class, luggage, passenger count, and time of day.
Route and roads
The usual route follows Interstate 10 East to the Carrollton Avenue exit, then continues south on Carrollton to St. Charles Avenue, Magazine Street, or Broadway toward the university area. If I-10 is slow, some affiliates use Airline Drive or Earhart Expressway to approach from the west. Uptown stretches from the Garden District past Audubon Park and includes both Tulane and Loyola universities.
Drive time and traffic
Plan for 25 to 50 minutes from terminal to Uptown during normal traffic. Morning rush on I-10 eastbound runs 7:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Evening congestion builds from 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. University events, football Saturdays at Yulman Stadium, and graduation weekends add local traffic on St. Charles and Broadway.
When to add a buffer
Add 15 to 30 minutes during weekday rush, Mardi Gras parades, and major university events. Parade season closes St. Charles Avenue to vehicles for much of the day. Move-in and move-out weekends at Tulane and Loyola create congestion near campus loading zones.
Vehicle options
A sedan works for one to three passengers with standard luggage. An SUV handles up to six passengers and more bags, which helps families with students moving into dorms. Larger groups should request a sprinter van or minibus quote. Child seats and ADA vehicles are available with advance notice.
Service notes
Chauffeur Service New Orleans dispatches this route through screened local affiliate operators. Flight tracking is included for the first hour of delay, after which waiting charges may apply. The consolidated terminal at MSY opened in November 2019, so all pickups use one arrivals area.
